Word of the Day: TETRAHEDRON...

The 5th annual SWIM-Off to Summer was our largest field ever with well over 200 registered and coming from all over the midwest. It was also our most competitive one to date. Just getting into the event was competitive, as it sold out back in April this year. Race day conditions were ideal, as the Friday rain storms gave way to overcast skies, similar air/water temps, and calm water. Those that stuck around afterwards enjoyed burgers and ice cream sundaes, plus lots of fun treats people brought to share. The only issue of the morning was me confusing people as I described the race course and using interjecting "tetrahedron" every other sentence as a reference to the shape of the buoys. I'll get that cleared up by next year!

In the .3 mile (sprint) distance race, Greg Breheim (6:43), Tyler Gerst (8:10), and Kyle Sweeney (9:40) came in 1, 2, and 3 respectively for the men. Linda Green (7:20), Bryce White (8:08), and Allison Brunner (10:14) came in that way for the women....

Chattanooga 70.3 race recap - I really do love racing in Chattanooga. This is my 4th race there in two years, and I’m drawn to that beautiful bike course through rolling hills, the great race support, and always stiff competition!

My lead up to this race was semi-conservative, we pulled back training volume some over the winter because it’s a Kona year and a long season! I felt fit coming into the race especially on the bike, swimming fitness is right where I want it to be right now, and there is some work to do on the run. But overall, I felt I could have a good day if I nailed my nutrition.

The swim went well, the current was not super strong, which I was happy about. Definitely have a better idea of where I need to be and what ti work on....

Tri Clear Lake Olympic race report: I want to first say this. Thank you @triclearlake for putting on such a great race! From all the volunteers to the beautiful course it was all fantastic! Also it was a pleasure to be able to compete in a race with retired pro @tollakson6 when I first got into triathlon I’d watch his YouTube and and study up on how I could make it possible to go pro! So if you haven’t check out @dimondbikes they are LEGIT!

Next I will say this. I am proud of our athletes who competed this weekend! @dripmultisports is just getting started and I am so excited for what is to come for our team! (Big announcements coming soon!).

Now for me: I will say this, yesterday was the best I have EVER raced which is exciting because I know I still have lots of room for improvement!...

Trinona 2024 Preview....

TRINONAVIEW.png

Trinona Preview - The cancelation of the Buffalo Triathlon left a gaping hole in our state's tri calendar. Between now and Trinona XIV on June 9 there isn't much going on unless you decide to give a couple of small community events--Carleton Tri in Northfield on May 31, or Tri For Health on June 7--a shot.

In any case, make sure you sign up for Trinona.

We studied the current enrollment, which already outnumbers last year's attendance, but organizers and the MTN guys would love to see a ton of additional sign-ups between now and the close of registration.

And though we expect the Olympic race's eventual frontrunners--athletes like last year's winners SEAN COOLEY and CARYN HERRICK--to be late registrannts, we are happy to see that TIMOTHY BONTRAGER is already signed up. Timothy enjoyed a breakout season in 2023 and is currently the man to beat, and he's ready to thrown down with the best in our region....
