Here are the Masters men (age 40-59) that Matt and Damon think are likely Master of the Year candidates, if offical nominations are actually announced this fall:
JOSH BLANKENHEIM, 42, Duluth - Blank won both of his Minnesota races --Timberman and Lakes Country--and finished in the bronze medal position in his AG at Olympic Nationals....

In that there were only 34 adult outdoor tris and dus this season, Matt and Damon favor the "2 competitive performance" format instead of the usual three performance deal. This was especially helpful when trying to determine their nominees for female Master of the Year. Basing their recommendations on this adjusted format made this category much more competitive.
Here, in alpha order, are the women that, according to Matt and Damon, deserve to be considered for 2022 Female MOY nominations:
SARA CARLSON, 43, Brainerd
Sara raced twice (so far) in '22 and won both times. The races--Young LIfe Olympic and Lakes Country--did not feature deep fields, but Sara's times were strong and her margins of victory were wide.

Like Sara, Nicole raced twice (Turtleman Olympic and YWCA Women's Tri), winning convincingly in the first one, and placing 2nd behind Christina Roberts in the other. Not bad for someone who was returning to the sport of Triathlon after a six-year absence....

SPICER — Andrew Manning made his mark on the Green Lake Triathlon on Sunday.
Manning — a 34 year old from Fargo, North Dakota — set a new course record in the Olympic race with a time of 1 hour, 35 minutes, 31 seconds. That beats the previous course record of 1:41:53 set by Marcus Stromberg in 2012....

Minnesota has been, and continues to be one of the most competitive tri states in the US, and every year about this time, MTN posts the names and resumes of those triathletes that set the highest peformance standards over the past season. Ultimatedly, the nominees, then the winners, of the Minnesota Multisport Honors are named...

IRONMAN WISCONSIN RACE REPORT - The 20th edition of IRONMAN Wisconsin was held on September 11th in Madison, Wisconsin. After a nice day on Saturday for the 70.3 race, a cold front pushed through and sat over the Madison area throughout the day. Temperatures were in the mid-50s, the wind blew 15 to 25 mph throughout the day, and the rain was non-stop; 3 inches in total on the day. The voice of Ironman, Mike Reilly, said it was one of, if not the worst, conditions he’d witnessed covering 200 Ironman events!...
