If we could, the MTN Guys would give special Christmas gifts to all of the multisport athletes in our state, and for the last several years we have revealed the presents we would give to members of Team Minnesota if we were solvent enough to do so.
We are so not solvent enough to do that.
Yesterday, we posted the gifts that we won't be giving to the men of Team Minnesota. Here are the gifts we won't we be giving to the Team Minnesota women:
-
GABY BUNTEN – After looking at the “Likes” on Gaby's FB page, we want to give her tickets to a Drake concert and a European shopping spree with Kendall Jenner.
-
KORTNEY HAAG – We can't really give gifts, we can only reveal what we'd like to give. For Kort, we'd like for time to slow down so her kids don't grow up too fast. We'd like to postpone the onset of Empty Nest Syndrome as long as possible....
Onesies, Ozzy Glasses, Kangaroos & Elvis....

Thinking about trying yoga for the first time? The winter months are the perfect time to extend out of your comfort zone, and you’ll be rewarded for your efforts. The Athlete’s Guide to Yoga author Sage Rountree shares five reasons to give it a try.
Flexibility
You probably think of yoga as primarily stretching—or even contortionism. Indeed, flexibility is a big part of contemporary Western yoga. Practicing the postures will stretch tight muscles and encourage use of your full range of motion. Tight muscles are more prone to acute injury, in the form of muscle strains and tears. Loosening up those tight spots will not only help prevent such injury, it will help prevent repetitive-use injuries by allowing the body to move smoothly during your training. Stretching moves you through your natural range of motion, which is lost if it is not used regularly....
Men's Team Minnesota: Why?

What needs to be understood at the outset is that TEAM MINNESOTA athletes are ranked by resume only, not reputation, i.e. who is perceived to be better than whom.
The way the team is determined is this: all five Committee members independently evaluate the resumes of the 20-or-so candidates. Each Selector then submits his (there were no female Selecrors this year; we hope that changes in 2018) list to the Chairman, who totals the points according to an athlete's placements. For instance, four Selectors ranked Sean Cooley 1st, with one ranking him 2nd. Sean, therefore, received 6 points.
Below is 2017 men's Team Minnesota. Next to each name is their point total. In parentheses are the ranking each athlete received. We also comment on how they fared against fellow Team MN members.
