New Club For High Schoolers...

Southwest SURGE - The mission of this club is to introduce triathlon, and other versions of multisport, to high school students in the Twin Cities southwest metro area.

Athletes will build camaraderie while learning, training, and competing together.

Who is the club for?
This club is for current high school athletes to build their endurance during non-competition high school seasons.  It is also for athletes not involved in any other high school sport who want to learn more about testing their limits.  This is an inclusive club, so there can be a virtual option for athletes not located in the southwest metro area....

What is the club’s training structure?
During the summer, there will be two in-person workouts on Mondays and Wednesday from 9:30-11:00.  Workouts will be held at Lake Rebecca Park in Rockford.  There will be other workouts to complete outside of group meetings and loaded into Training Peaks.

This club is a wing of the Waconia Tri Club.  All high school athletes will be able to join up with any group workouts, clinics, and other events the Tri Club has.  They will also be included on the group chat where members can look for running, swimming, and biking workout buddies.

Other Information
The Waconia Tri Club is a USA Triathlon certified club.  USA Triathlon has offered 10 free USAT memberships to high schoolers joining this group.  This will allow athletes to compete in local USAT sanctioned races without paying the extra fee.  They may also be able to qualify for USAT Nationals.

As a member of this club, there is an opportunity for individual coaching through Build Endurance at a discounted rate.

Summer session will be coached by Josh Sell, USAT Level I certified coach.
Pricing:  $250 for the summer training session, but will include full year access to any Waconia Tri Club workouts.  Athletes will receive a custom tri top if they register before March 30, 2026.
