As the legend goes, when I won my first Wildflower, I was a poor, lowly, smelly, first-year pro. I used a borrowed bike and helmet, a hand-me-down kit, running shoes from my wife’s shoe sponsor, and of course, drugstore aviators. I drove down to Lake San Antonio in the 28-Twitter-follower-famous “ManVan with Matt Lieto” and slept in the closet of previous champion Chris Legh’s cabin. In a sport known for extreme expense as much for extreme exercise, “cheap” was the name of the game....

These days, it seems to me that people are coy about absolutely everything.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand the appeal of maintaining an air of mystery. Still, sometimes you just have to square your shoulders and tell it like it is.
I think this is especially true when it comes to information on leading a healthy lifestyle.
Health, even at it’s very best, can be kind of messy and gross. That’s why it’s so important to have these frank conversations from time to time....

Just say no to the puppy.
Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa or just doing a gift exchange at your office party, chances are at some point this holiday season, you’re going to be opening presents in front of the people who bought them for you. And as we all know, doing that is pretty much the worst thing imaginable. Unless you are an Oscar-, Emmy- or Tony-nominated actor, you too loathe the idea of trying to convincingly pretend you really do like the kickstand uncle Tommy got you for your TT bike....
